California State University, Los Angeles has established a Lifelong Learning Program. The program is supervised by a Board comprised of emeriti and seniors participating in the program. Since the Lifelong Learning Program began, several Cal State L.A. emeriti have been actively involved in the teaching of non-credit presentations in literature, history, political science, the history of science. art, music, public affairs and cultural and social criticism. Emeriti of all disciplines are encouraged to become members of the program and propose presentations of their own for which they receive a modest honorarium. Presentations are held in single one hour sessions. They are conducted at satellite locations such as senior centers and senior residences throughout Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley.
