The multi-cultural and pluralistic organization originally started off with seven members, but as expected membership has increase to 104 members. Everyone is welcome to join this energetic organization. Membership in the Sociology Club is free. This organization is open to sociology majors, minors and the student body at large. membership

In addition, membership for the Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta (National Sociological Honors Society), California is available to all qualified applicants; the application cost is $30. This is a once in a lifetime membership fee. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average in sociology. The student-applicant must be a sociology major or minor.

space.gif (47 bytes) Students can benefit from being part of these sociology organizations based on the following factors: create mentor-mentee relationships with faculty, visit Ph.D. granting institutions, become involved with neighboring communities, visit sociology related occupations, and attend professional sociological conferences. This honor society was revived in the spring quarter and has attracted new and prospective members. All new applicant will be recognized at the annual student banquet; these inductees will be sworn into the organization and receive their AKD pins. In addition, members will be recognized at the CSULA's Honor Convocation. membership photo
