California State University of Los Angeles Muslim Students Association (MSA) was founded in the fall quarter of 2003 by founding fathers and visionaries, Emad Zowawi and Tarik Abu Ubaid. It was established in response to the backlash against Muslims after the September 11 attacks in order to promote better understanding of Islam at CSULA. With its continued progress, the CSULA MSA hopes to achieve more recognition on campus for its various activities including hosting informative tables about Islam on the campus walkway and holding seminars to discuss Islamic issues and current events.
