The STEER program is an NSF funded Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program. STEER is located at CSULA and in its first year included 12 middle school, high school and community college teachers working at 4 labs covering from seismic disturbances to 3D modeling to Space Lab to Digital Signal Processing.Training includes instruction in various applications such as HTML, Excel and PowerPoint and specific instruction in individual labs. Teachers are assigned to labs where they have mentors. Each work group consists of CSULA professors, CSULA graduate and undergraduate students and local area teachers. Within a lab teachers are instructed in content and software.
