Fitness activities designed to develop skill, knowledge of rules, background and analysis of techniques at the beginning level of Kukki Taekwondo.

At the completion of the course students will demonstrate the skill and/or knowledge of:
  • Basic kicking techniques
  • Theory and application of basic attacking drills
  • Theory and application of basic defensive drills
  • General and specific warm-up skills
  • Buildup of basic Taekwondo related fitness requirements (and reduced risk of injury), e.g., flexibility exercises, push-ups, crunches as well as, repeated practice drill elements for the buildup of muscular strength and endurance
  • Application of learned skill in a competitive ands self-defense situation
  • Proper skill progression for basic and advance levels

Note: This class is designed to foster a positive appreciation and enjoyment of the spirit of Taekwondo, regardless of the skill level of the student.

Course Format and Required Materials:
At the start of each session there will be a lecture demonstration proceeded by a general and a specific warm-up.  Proper attire for Taekwondo is required.  This includes a Taekwondo Dobok.

40% Skills test – To be evaluated concurrently with the Final and throughout the course. Class participation, performance of various techniques
30% Attendance/Class Participation
30% Training Journal

Final Date: Tuesday, December 10, 2002 @ 7:30pm
