Incumbent performs a variety of complex tasks in the area of Information Technology.
Diagnoses and repairs hardware and software problems with public workstations (over 150 units). Performs parts replacement if warranty does not cover repair. Reports problems that can be fixed under warranty. Assists in the installation of computers used by student assistants, staff, faculty, and the public. This includes physical installation, backing up and restoring data files, and the installation and configuration of internet security software. Monitors and produces monthly reports for Time Limit Manager program used in Reference area. Program enforces 1 hour limit for patrons. Montitors public computer workstations for any problems on a daily basis. Additional tasks as assigned. Requires minimal supervision when performing these tasks. Performs related duties as required within the job level of responsibilities.
