How-To Setup Microsoft Entourage

This tutorial is designed to assist in setting up Microsoft Entourage 2004 11.4.1 to access a campus e-mail account including calendars, contacts, public folders, and free / busy schedules.

The windows and settings are identical for Office 2008.

  1. From the Applications Folder, select Microsoft Office 2004 › Microsoft Entourage.

  2. Select Tools › Accounts.

  3. On the Accounts window select Exchange › New.

  4. On the Account Setup Assistant window select Configure account manually.

  5. On the Edit Account window, input information in the following fields:
    • Name - your display name
    • E-Mail address - fully qualified e-mail address (e.g.
    • Account ID - the domain account name
    • Domain - the domain (e.g. AD)
    • Password - the domain/userid password
    • Exchange Server -
    • Select check box for This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL).

  6. In the Edit Account window, select the Advanced tab and add information in the following fields and leave remaining fields at their default setting:
    • Public Folder server:
    • LDAP server:
    Note: Address book lookup works only on campus.


  7. If the user is a delegate for a department mailbox,
    • Select File › Open Other User's Folder...

    • In the Open Other User's Folder window, Input of find the name of the department mailbox in the User field.


  8. Select OK when finished.
