This web page provides step by step instructions to help you with some of the ITS Help Desk's most commonly asked questions.

Key to this success is your ability to access the many systems and services that Cal State L.A. offers, including the campus high-speed wireless network, e-mail, GET and GETLA, Library resources, Moodle and others. We understand that your time is valuable and the last thing you want to do is fill out forms or stand in line. With your myCSULA Identity account you can access these services and much more directly through the myCSULA Portal. And you can conveniently activate your myCSULA Identity account anywhere, anytime from any computer with Internet access!

Sometimes, when changes are made to a web page, the change does not immediately appear in your browser window. This occurs when a previous version of the web page was cached, or preserved, in your browser. Clearing your cache prevents your browser from referring to the last cached page.

To clear your browser cache, follow the instructions below for your specific web browser:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and 9:

  1. Launch your browser and select Delete Browsing History from the Tools menu.
  2. Check the Temporary Internet Files checkbox and click on the Delete button.
  3. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7:

  1. Launch your browser and select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Click on Delete in the Browsing History section.
  4. Click on Delete Files in the Temporary Internet Files section.You may also choose to delete cookies and browsing history.

Mozilla Firefox 15:

  1. Launch your browser and select Clear recent history from the Firefox > History menu.
  2. Select the time range you'd like cleared, under the details section assure that cache is checked.
  3. Click on the Clear Now button.
Safari (Mac):

  1. Open your browser and click on the Safari menu.
  2. Select Empty Cache.
  3. Click on Empty in the pop-up window to confirm.
These are general instructions as many mobile devices differ in their account set up procedures. Use the following data where appropriate for your device.

  1. Add the e-mail account as Microsoft Exchange/Corporate Sync.
  2. Input your myCSULA Identity email address ( and password.
  3. Username/userid is the same as your email address (

You can connect your gaming console to the campus network in your campus dorm (use wireless access point: cslares). You will first need to register your gaming console's Physical Address (a.k.a. MAC address) with the ITS Help Desk. The ITS Help Desk will then give you a passcode to enter so you can set up your device on the dedicated wireless access point for gaming consoles. Please refer to your owners manual for specific instructions on how to connect your console to a wireless access point.
