Virgil A. Seaman, Ph.D.
I have been teaching at California State University since fall of 1987. I attended Indiana State University where I completed my M.A. in Industrial Arts Education and my Ph.D. in Secondary Education/Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Industrial and Technology Education.
As a Professor in the Department of Technology, my duties include teaching, committee service on campus, outreach to community colleges and high schools, and advisement. I served six (6) years as Chair of the department and have been deeply involved with curricular change in the department.
Finally, the reason for my success here at Cal State L.A. can be attributed to the wonderful and caring professors that I had when I was a graduate student at Indiana State University. Their support and guidance have greatly influenced my approach to helping motivate and guide students in our Industrial Technology program.
Simple advice: "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!"
