Katherine EmersonSocial Work
Dr. Emerson has been teaching social work courses at Cal State LA since Spring 2001. She earned her BSW from Cal State LA in 1994, her MSW from Columbia University in the City of New York in 1997 and her DPA from University of LaVerne in 2012.
Dr. Emerson enjoys teaching BSW courses, but her favorite course to teach by far is the Family Violence course.
Dr. Emerson has been working in the field of domestic violence since 1997. Her current research focuses on the status of collaborations among domestic violence service providers. Her goal is to be able to use her research to improve the working relationship between child protective services and domestic violence agencies.
