RESEARCH

Prof. Espinoza is completing a manuscript, Bronze Womanhood: Chicana Activism in the Chicano Civil Rights Movement, 1965-1980, which draws upon print media and oral history to tell the stories of women’s participation in the Crusade for Justice, Brown Berets, Raza Unida Party, and MEChA. Her current and ongoing research interests include the history/theory/practice of Chicana, Latina, women of color, and U.S. Third World feminisms and solidarities, esp. 1960s to present. Her next project is an Anthology on the life and work of Dorinda Moreno. She is also involved in developing the East Los Angeles Archive with a focus on Chicana activism in East Los Angeles.
