Quartz Crystal Microbalances

We have two quartz crystal microbalances (QCM) available for sensor development and measurements of mass changes at electrode surfaces. The first QCM is a homemade device that measures absolute frequency changes at crystals of any fundamental oscillation frequency. The other QCM is controlled by the CHI 440 Electrochemical Workstation which determines the frequency difference between the working crystal of a fundamental frequency of 8 MHz and a reference crystal. Both QCM devices have been combined with electrochemistry or with flow injection analysis.
