Juvenile Delinquency in the Korean Community of Los Angeles
By Eui-Young Yu
Juvenile Delinquency in the Korean Community work carefully documents the development of delinquency and crime among Korean and Korean-American young people; it makes for somber reading. At the same time, a careful evaluation also gives cause for guarded optimism, for beneath the data lies the reality that delinquency and crime among these juveniles is markedly less than among American juveniles as a whole. In light of the difficulties inherent in the lives of transplanted people surrounded by an alien culture, this is a remarkable testimonial to the social fabric of the Southern California Korean community.
