Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience

Welcome!

The Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience at Cal State La was established in 2006 by Dr. Izquierdo. The focus of our research is in the brain regions and mechanisms by which we make decisions and, more specifically, how we are able to modify our behavior when given new information. In our lab we design experiments to assess this flexible decision making (and perturbations of) using a variety of manual and automated tasks.

Our lab is housed in the new natural sciences building, the Annenberg Science Complex (ASC). Because our research involves a combination of biological techniques and psychological/behavioral theory, undergraduate and graduate students of either educational background are welcome. Those interested in pursuing Ph.D.s and/or research careers in neuroscience are also welcome.

Currently there are three graduate and five undergraduate students in the lab. Our ongoing projects involve the study of the following aspects of decision making:
