POSITION: Assistant Professor, Exercise Physiologist


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education.  Experience in teaching lecture and/or laboratory courses in exercise physiology and/or in closely related fields. Candidates should provide record of or potential for research activity involving students whenever possible.  Candidates should also demonstrate an ability and interest to work in a multicultural, multiethnic campus.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Post- doctorate from an accredited university or institution is preferred.  Experience in teaching various exercise physiology lecture and laboratory courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Evidence of on-going research activity and potential to secure external funding to support research.  Experience in providing academic advisement and/or research supervision to undergraduate and graduate students.  Possession of advanced certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine.

DUTIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise graduate and undergraduate students, serve at all levels of academic governance, establish and maintain an active research program and seek external funding. 

SALARY: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
