Kent Weishaus received his MSW from CSULA in 2009, receiving the College of Health & Human Services Certificate of Honor, as well as being asked to join the Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society. Weishaus had chosen to leave a previous career in the entertainment business, and has subsequently became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  He likes to think that his previous profession and his extensive work in the social work field have afforded him some real-world experience and wisdom that may be helpful to aspiring MSW students.  In recent years, Weishaus worked as a Clinical Therapist in two different acute-care psychiatric hospitals, affording him excellent one to one experience with adults and adolescents suffering from acute symptoms of depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance abuse/dependence. He has also spent three years working with the inner-city adolescent population in South Los Angeles.
