Roosevelt High School

Roosevelt High School MESA students competed at the 2010 Solar Cup competition for third straight year. The Roosevelt Solar Cup team started constructing a 16 foot boat that runs off of solar power from scratch in November to be complete for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Solar Cup competition in May for endurance and sprint racing. The MESA Advisors, Israel Hernandez, Adriana Sanchez, and Jose Salazar along with the MESA students put a lot of time and dedication into this project. They competed against 36 teams from the Los Angeles, Orange, Sand Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. This is the largest solar-boat competition in the nation! The Roosevelt team placed 2nd in the Veteran Technical Report and 3rd place Veteran 200 meter sprint. Congratulations for a job well done!
